Description

I regret NOTHING.

Yes, I have been bitten by the Pony bug. There are some great human version of the ponies, so I figured I'd try my hand at their Grand Galloping Gala dresses.

It was a lot of fun, but it took a long, long time! If I never see the episode Best Night Ever, I'll die a happier pegasis. Had to keep replaying it and freeze framing for reference. Just when I thought I was done, I realized I had no idea what to do for a background, and needed to watch it again.

Rainbow Dash's outfit was the hardest to turn into a dress, she's the one I'm least happy with. Mostly because I wrecked the shading on her hair and couldn't really salvage it - and her face gave me a lot of trouble - also, I find I am woefully out of practice drawing feet, and hers are undeniably awful.
Pinkie Pie's face turned out a little wonky, too, and in hindsight, I wish I'd been more creative with the poses. Prerogative one was getting the dresses right, though. Poses were on the backburner. However, her hair is hilarious.
Fluttershy's dress was the first I attempted and probably the easiest, I hope I got her expression right.
I thought Applejack's was going to be the worst/most difficult to transcribe to human fashion, but I think the final product turned out to be my favorite, along with Rarity.
Damn it, Rarity, why do you wear so much bling? All those individual jewels took forever. I had to redo her entirely, the first attempt failed at everything from pose to face to dress. It's in my scraps if you want to cringe.
By the way, the book Twilight is hiding behind her back is probably something along the lines of "How to Talk to People at Parties." She wanted to do some research before going, okay?
I staggered the girls for aesthetic purposes so you can't see the height differences. For some reason, I was really into making sure their heights/body types were varied (ahaha yeah I can totally vary body types). From tallest to shortest, it goes Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Twilight, Pinkie, Applejack, then Rarity. [/uselessdetail]

"Hey Fluttershy, where'd you get a squirrel?"
"Trap number thirty fi - I mean, he just - hopped onto my hand!"

Individual shots to come.
(Yes, I forgot to get Spike drawn; hopefully I won't have lost steam and be able to start and finish him before I go on vacation.)

I think I might have gone a little overboard with the shading. Also, in hindsight, I wish I'd put a more thought into the overall composition, make them look like a cohesive group.

This is... nice.

I mean it looks okay, but this is definitely not your best work, some of the anatomy and facial structure is off, and Fluttershy just looks like a zombie with her super pale skin and the blank looks in her eyes.

And I really don't think Applejack would go for the giant slit in the side of her dress.

So yeah.
